SUMMARY:EU4Health Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to be a partner of a very special event this year! \nThe EU4Health Integration and Impact Initiative (EU4H3I) aims to address public health challenges such as health inequalities\, unequal access to treatments and lack of diversity in clinical trials. Together with our partners\, we advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration and the adoption of a holistic\, cross-sectoral approach supported by the One Health perspective to support the development of the European Health Union. \nWe are very pleased to represent the field of childhood cancer alongside key representatives of the One Health approach and brain health in this project. These three areas are closely intertwined and form a complex set of interconnected issues.Childhood cancer not only affects the physical health of young patients during and after treatment\, but also has a profound impact on the cognitive\, emotional\, behavioral and social abilities of affected children and the rest of their lives as well as their families and friends. The One Health approach\, which recognizes the interdependence of human health\, animal health and the environment\, plays a central role in understanding the complexity of this challenge. It recognizes that environmental factors can contribute to the development of childhood cancer\, underlining the need for a comprehensive view. \nThis event will bring together key stakeholders to discuss health inequalities\, access to treatment\, the diversity of clinical trials and urgent needs in the areas of childhood cancer and brain health. The aim is to promote a holistic One Health approach to tackling these challenges. \nWe think it’s important to look at the issue of childhood\, adolescent and young adult cancer not only in isolation but also in relation to other issues\, such as the environment\, in order to better recognize connections and thus be able to advocate even better! \nWhy attend?\n• Network with leading experts and decision-makers from across Europe\n• Learn from distinguished experts\n• Explore innovative solutions to pressing public health challenges\n• As a patient\, advocate for your health and empower yourself with knowledge \nJoin us on December 2\, 2024\, at the Palace of the Academies in Brussels! \nSince the places are limited\, we invite you to secure your participation in this event from now on. SUMMARY:Advance Your Knowledge: How can patients benefit from ESCPs?
DESCRIPTION:The European Standard of Clinical Practice (ESCP) Project is an on-going collaboration between ERN PaedCan and SIOP Europe’s Clinical Trial Groups (ECTG)\, aiming to develop approved clinical recommendations that reflect current best practices for each common childhood cancer type. The ESCPs are reviewed by CCI-E members. The goal is to improve outcomes and increase childhood cancer survival\, and quality of life by providing these benchmarks for best practice. In this Gold Webinar\, we discuss with responsible clinicians how patient representatives can best use these ESCPs so that patients can benefit directly.\n \nPanelists \nHarun Šabić\, CCI Europe Committee MemberLidiya Vitanova\, CCI Europe DT&C pillar MemberEwa Majewska\, CCI Europe DT&C Pillar MemberRuth Ladenstein\, ERN-PaedCan Coordinator & Head of the Clinical Trials Unit S²IRP at St. Anna CCRIJelena Rascon – Head of the Cancer Coordination Centre at Santaros ClinicsModerator: Barbara Brunmair\, CCI Europe Projects & Pillar Coordinator \n\n\n\n\n\nregister here
