On the occasion of Children’s Rights Day, SIOP Europe and CCI Europe are pleased to announce the launch of this new policy event, hosted by MEP Loucas Fourlas (EPP, Cyprus).

The event will bring together key stakeholders to address critical issues in paediatric oncology, with a particular focus on access to cross-border care and research across Europe.

We warmly invite you to register and join us in this important discussion on Tuesday, 19 November from 16:00 to 18:00 CET at the European Parliament, Brussels (Room P4B001 – SPAAK).

This is a unique opportunity to explore together how the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, and the EU Cancer Mission can help provide equitable, high-quality care and research for children with cancer across Europe. The event is also a valuable opportunity to engage with policymakers, healthcare professionals, and patient advocates committed to advancing paediatric oncology.

If you’d like to be part of this important discussion, register now and secure your spot. Feel free to invite your colleagues and share this opportunity within your networks.

Background

Despite advances in treatment and care, significant disparities persist across Europe, affecting access to essential medicines, care, and research, as well as the quality of life for young patients. Ensuring access to high-quality cross-border care and research for children with cancer remains a major challenge across Europe. EU decision-makers, healthcare professionals, and patient advocates need to work together to ensure that every child has access to the treatment they need.
